launch problems

i got this from john rambo today,

DOD having issues today."Looks like there was an update to half-life today which will crash your Day of Defeat upon launching.Right click Half-life and go to properties Go to the BETAs section Under beta participation select steam_legacy There should be another small update it will download Once you do that you should be able to launch DOD

strangely enough i can't find any beta this in my properties, so i haven't been able to fix it yet

yup, i ran into the same shit.
Open your steam game library, right click half life, go to properties, click on beta, were it said none on the right side switch it to Steam Legacy and close using the X.
Should run DOD after that.

Might wanna throw this fix to everyone through a steam message cause i think everyone will have this issue

I have not had to do this but there has been an update and everything looks very different. I will keep running this way but may need to give it a shot! V.A........ fix this will you!

The fix will cure the small fonts in game and the general different look. I had the same thing.
